OJ Simpson Criminal Trial Program at Journalism Week 2009
03-05-2009
On Wednesday, March 4 the Reynolds School of Journalism held a program entitled: OJ Simpson Criminal Trial, Then and Now.
Jerrianne Hayslett, who served as the court public information officers and media liaison at the 1995 murder trial of O.J. Simpson in Los Angeles, joined Mike Sommermeyer, the Clark County court public information officer who handled the media issues in Simpson's 2008 armed robbery and kidnapping trial in Las Vegas, to speak about their experiences with judges, the media and the public.
This was the first time both trials have been featured in a comparison program.
Ms. Hayslett’s book, “Anatomy of a Trial: Public Loss, Lessons Learned from The People versus O.J.Simpson” has been published by the University of Missouri Press.
